(AP) ? Marking a first for Hispanics, the Democratic party has chosen the mayor of San Antonio to deliver the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention.

The party announced Tuesday that Mayor Julian Castro would deliver the high-profile, prime-time address on the convention's opening night. First lady Michelle Obama will also address the convention delegates ? and a television audience across the country ? on the same night, Sept. 4.

Castro, 37, is the youngest mayor of a major U.S. city and the first Hispanic selected to deliver the keynote address at the Democratic convention.

President Barack Obama is banking on Hispanic support in battleground states like Florida, Colorado and Nevada as he seeks to break away from Republican rival Mitt Romney. The race remains deadlocked just over three months from Election Day, though polls show Obama with a sizable lead over Romney among Hispanic voters.

The late-summer party conventions will set the tone for the fall campaign blitz. Obama will accept his party's nomination in Charlotte, N.C. the first week in September, while Romney will get the Republican nod in Tampa, Fla., a week earlier.

As keynote speaker, Castro will step into the same role that propelled Obama into the national political spotlight. Then a little-known state lawmaker running for Senate from Illinois, Obama delivered the convention keynote in 2004, winning wide praise from Democrats as a rising star in the party.

Castro, in a video announcing his selection as keynote speaker, made his case for Obama's re-election, arguing that the president had begun to turn the economy around.

"We've come so far over the past three and a half years under Obama's leadership," he said. "And I know he's not done yet. We got a lot more work to do."

Democrats have also announced that former President Bill Clinton and Elizabeth Warren, the party's Senate candidate in Massachusetts, will have high-profile speaking roles at the convention on Sept. 5.

Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will speak in prime time on the convention's final night during an event at an outdoor arena in Charlotte that is expected to draw a crowd of tens of thousands.

Positive aspects and Disadvantages of carrying out Data Entry ...

Want a digital format from the challenging copy of any document? technologies can be the correct option. Changes are taking place in the field of using the improvement of modern day technology. Apparently, you may believe OCR service as a substitute of data entry service, nevertheless, OCR services include both benefits and disadvantages.

Overview of OCR

Optical Character Recognition is a contemporary technology for digital replication. OCR technology comes with computer software, hardware and an added circuit inside the laptop or computer to execute conversion approach. can not merely read the fonts but additionally recognize line breaks inside a document. The process of OCR is fairly easy and effortless to handle. The complete method of converting hard copy of a document into electronic document might take only a couple of seconds.

Advantages of OCR

In case you are trying to find only converting any document into editable digital format then there is nothing at all greater than OCR services. saves the time and effort of developing a digital replica of any document. No want to variety characters manually on a digital file. Just location the difficult copy with the document inside a scanner and get the digital format of that document using the assist of OCR computer software.

With OCR method it is possible to convert a document in numerous electronic formats like Microsoft Word, Excel, HTML, PDF, Text or Wealthy Text formats.

Documents, which are converted by means of OCR approach, are editable and let the user to modify the content. Compared to manual data entry service the expense of OCR service is fairly less for developing electronic replica of any document. OCR service proved much better than information entry service for the organizations, that are engaged in creating electronic copy of printed books.

Disadvantages of OCR Service

There are a number of disadvantages of OCR service with regards to the expense also as the approach of recognizing the characters. Initially, the cost of creating replica by means of OCR procedure may possibly seem lucrative but if you consider the expense of complete OCR program life cycle, the price will likely be considerably higher than. Correcting OCR errors counts more cost than preparing a digital format of the document.

High accuracy OCR software program can read greater than 400 characters/second, around, and generates less number of OCR errors compared to any ordinary OCR software program. Therefore, if you are searching for OCR procedure you will need to maintain a separate workstation for correcting OCR errors.

OCR computer software just isn?t efficient in recognizing the handwriting and also the fonts, that are quite related to handwriting. In such cases manual typing plays far better function than OCR procedure.

How effective is than OCR?

Compared to ordinary OCR process, conversion life cycle price is less in information entry service and it provides total flexibility to information entry operators preparing digital documents from numerous formats like tough copy or audio files. Consider the service of medical transcription where you have to prepare digital documents from audio files. OCR can?t prepare digital document by scanning any audio files. In such services, information entry can prove better than OCR.

It has been found that for services like mailing list conversion or information extraction from the net, manual data entry services are nonetheless broadly accepted across the sector. Information entry service comes with a number of levels staring from inserting raw data in a document to an error free document. OCR is efficient through the initial level of data entry service but can?t be a substitute of data entry service. However, the selection of a right service (Data Entry or OCR) depends on specifications of the job.

(AP) ? Movie Star News amassed a staggering amount of film stills, posters and negatives over the past 73 years ? nearly 3 million, including 1,500 prints of Bettie Page, known as the queen of pin-ups. But last week, the once-lively store in lower Manhattan was lifeless. The classic movie posters that once covered its narrow 2,000-square-foot space were rolled up or covered in cellophane, its bins and racks empty. Everything was packed up in cardboard boxes that lined the floor.

The legendary Manhattan store credited with creating pin-up art had sold its entire inventory to a Las Vegas collectibles company.

The collection, regarded as one of the largest of its kind, is headed for the auction block. It will be sold in a series of sales slated to begin next year. The bulk of the collection covers the years 1939 to 1979; 11,500 movies and 5,000 actors are represented.

"This is the most important photo archive of Hollywood in existence. There are tens of thousands of negatives that have never been reproduced," said Stuart Scheinman, co-owner of Entertainment Collectibles, which bought the collection. "There are images here that have never been seen by the public."

There are 2,000 original prints and negatives of Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando, 1,000 of Gary Cooper, 400 of Bette Davis, hundreds of movie images of "The Godfather" and "Gone With the Wind."

"This could literally take five to 10 years to go through it all," Scheinman said. He would only say the company purchased the collection for "seven figures." Its true value was anyone's guess, but he believed it easily was worth $150 million.

Movie Star News produced 8-by-10 glossy prints from the negatives, selling each for a few dollars in the store and through the mail. But the Internet has significantly cut down on demand.

"I make references to things when customers come in, and they have no idea what I'm talking about," said Ira Kramer, who took over the business that his mother, Paula, and uncle Irving Klaw, started in 1939. "Today, if you want a picture of a star you can go on the computer and download it. So what do you need me for?"

"The maintenance of the collection has been fastidious ... the way a fine library would maintain material," said Arlan Ettinger, president of Guernsey's and in charge of selling the collection.

As far back as the 1940s, Movie Star News had a mailing list of 100,000 names. World War II soldiers were big customers, buying prints for their lockers, Kramer said.

The entrepreneurial Klaw, who died in 1966, hit on the idea of selling pictures of Hollywood stars while operating a movie bookstore.

"He noticed that kids were tearing out the pictures of the movie stars, so he decided to sell their pictures rather than the books," Kramer said. Klaw started dealing directly with movie studios, RKO, Columbia and others, located in those days along Eleventh Avenue.

"He made arrangements to buy from them whatever they didn't want ... original negatives, original prints of 'Citizen Kane,' 'Three Stooges,'" he said. The studios were more than happy to be rid of the stuff for which they had no room.

Kramer's mother was the one who took the pin-up shots. But it was Klaw who launched that side of the business after a man approached him about making him a set of photographs of skimpily-clad girls posing with whips and ropes, said Kramer.

Page was Klaw's favorite model, and a suitcase of the 7-inch heels she wore in the photos, plus other bondage props, will be included in the auction.

The photos were tame by today's standards. In fact, the models were required to wear two pairs of underwear. But the FBI continuously harassed Klaw and he had to appear before the 1955 Senate Subcommittee on Obscene and Pornographic Materials.

"It was a big headache," Kramer said. Klaw finally decided to burn all the pin-up material ? but Paula Klaw saved a lot of it.

Flaring black holes may solve cosmic ray puzzle

WHERE do ultra high-energy cosmic rays come from? These charged particles zoom to Earth from outer space, but why is a mystery. Now a possible source - gamma-ray bursts, which seemed to have been ruled out - have received a new lease of life.

Gamma-ray bursts are usually created by exploding stars, which produce neutrinos. So last April, when the IceCube neutrino detector in Antarctica saw no neutrinos accompanying high-energy cosmic rays, astronomers favoured galaxies with active supermassive black holes at their cores as the source of the rays.

But a more recent study found that only one galaxy was powerful enough to have produced cosmic rays with such high energies. The rest appear to come from galaxies that seem too weak.

This posed a "perplexing problem", says Glennys Farrar of New York University, one of the study authors. Then they found a clue: gamma-ray burst GRB110328A, which happened in March 2011. Its afterglow persisted for over a week, instead of a few hours like normal ones. The culprit was most likely a star falling into a galaxy's central black hole. This would make a weak black hole flare up, producing a burst of gamma rays that in turn spits out cosmic rays, suggests Farrar (arxiv.org/abs/1207.3186v1).

The trouble is testing the hypothesis. Gamma rays travel at the speed of light, so would arrive millennia ahead of any cosmic rays. Farrar hopes to strengthen the idea by matching more cosmic ray emissions with weak active galaxies.

Hockey: Britain face Argentina after sour Falklands row

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's hockey face-off with Argentina on Monday gives the higher-ranked hosts a chance to avenge an earlier defeat this year and marks the latest twist in a sporting rivalry stemming from a bloody dispute over a tiny south Atlantic archipelago.

Diplomatic relations between the two nations have soured this year, the 30th anniversary of their brief war over the British-run Falkland Islands, with Buenos Aires pushing hard to have the islands recognized as Argentinean territory.

Britain has refused to back down, arguing that the destiny of the islands, called Las Malvinas in Argentina, should be decided by their 3,000 inhabitants.

Those bitter territorial tensions have spilled over into the world of sport, with media on both sides of the ocean hamming up the significance of battles on the field of play.

British soccer fans still bear a grudge over Diego Maradona's "Hand of God" goal - when he punched the ball into the net - which helped Argentina put an end to England's World Cup dreams in 1986, just four years after the Falklands war.

Argentina then touched a nerve in May with a state-supported television advertisement showing a hockey player training in the Falklands. The video ended with the voiceover: "To compete on English soil, we are training on Argentine soil."

Although the player featured in the advertisement, Fernando Zylberberg, did not make Argentina's Olympic hockey squads, Britain accused Argentina of abusing the Games for political purposes.

British Prime Minister David Cameron stirred things up in June warning Argentina that Britain stood "ready and willing to stand up for the Falkland Islanders at any time".

The two teams will play at 1900 local time (1800 GMT) in their first match since Argentina, ranked 9th in the world, beat Britain, world number four, in June.

Britain are tipped to win the match but media attention will likely focus more on politics. The two teams have little history together, having only met three times in Olympic Games, all of which the British side won.

Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner will not attend the Games and media have reported her telling Argentina's 142 Olympic athletes at their send-off not to stage any Falklands protests in London.

The Argentine national Olympic Committee quickly distanced itself from the video in May.

In jam, Romney tries not to make new Iran policy

JERUSALEM (AP) ? Mitt Romney tried to pull back Sunday from an adviser's suggestion that he favored new American aggression on Iran, distancing himself from comments that the U.S. presidential candidate would "respect" an Israeli decision for unilateral military action to prevent Tehran from gaining nuclear capability.

Hours after the aide previewed Romney's upcoming foreign policy speech in Jerusalem, Romney backpedaled and said, "I'll use my own words and that is I respect the right of Israel to defend itself and we stand with Israel. We're two nations that come together in peace and that want to see Iran being dissuaded from its nuclear folly."

The address by the Republican challenger to President Barack Obama was promoted as the centerpiece of a weeklong trip abroad designed to burnish his foreign policy credentials and highlight his ability to lead on the world stage. But the mixed signals on Iran could undermine that goal.

"Because I'm on foreign soil, I don't want to be creating new foreign policy for my country or in any way to distance myself from the foreign policy of our nation, but we respect the right of a nation to defend itself," the former Massachusetts governor told CBS' "Face the Nation" a few hours before the speech and a day before a major fundraiser in the city.

Obama has affirmed the right of Israel to defend itself, while also warning of the consequences of an Israeli strike on Iran.

"Already, there is too much loose talk of war," Obama told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee in March. "Now is the time to let our increased pressure sink in and to sustain the broad international coalition we have built."

An Obama ally, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, reaffirmed Obama's position that the U.S. "will stand with Israel."

"But this president has understood that the two choices between all-out war and Iran having a nuclear weapon are choices we don't want to face," Durbin told CNN's "State of the Union."

"I understand Mitt Romney is on this political tour doing this fundraiser in Israel, but the point is the president has had to sit down as he has over and over again with Prime Minister (Benjamin) Netanyahu and work out a sound policy to avoid the prospect of war."

The Romney adviser, Dan Senor, told reporters earlier in previewing the address that "if Israel has to take action on its own, in order to stop Iran from developing the capability, the governor would respect that decision." He said Romney is careful to note that he believes preventing nuclear "capability," not just a nuclear weapon, is critical.

Senor later clarified his comments in a written statement, saying that the candidate "believes we should employ any and all measures to dissuade the Iranian regime from its nuclear course, and it is his fervent hope that diplomatic and economic measures will do so. In the final analysis, of course, no option should be excluded."

Romney said in the interview that "we should use every diplomatic and political vehicle that's available to us to keep Iran from becoming a nuclear-capable state. Those actions should be executed with the greatest speed we could muster. ... If all those options fail then we do have other options and we don't take those other options off the table."

Romney has said he will do "the opposite" of what Obama would do in his approach to Israel. The Obama administration hasn't ruled out the military option, but Obama has so far been relying on economic sanctions and diplomatic negotiations to discourage Iran from building a nuclear bomb.

"Are there differences between us? Of course. But being on foreign soil, particularly being here in Israel, this isn't the time for me to draft those out," Romney said.

In his speech, the candidate tells Israelis that "make no mistake: The ayatollahs in Tehran are testing our moral defenses. They want to know who will object, and who will look the other way."

According to excerpts released by the campaign before the speech, Romney says his message "to the people of Israel and the leaders of Iran is one and the same: I will not look away; and neither will my country."

While the address was before an audience of Israelis, the message was aimed squarely at Jewish and evangelical Christian voters in the United States as he tried to highlight policy differences with Obama.

He says the nuclear threat has increased in recent years and that Iran's claims that its program is for peaceful purposes "are belied by years of malign deceptions."

"The conduct of Iran's leaders gives us no reason to trust them with nuclear material," he says in the speech, which followed a series of meetings with Israeli and Palestinian officials.

Romney, who received a warm welcome Netanyahu, has said he has a "zero tolerance" policy toward Iran obtaining the capability to build a nuclear weapon.

Pentagon officials have spoken publicly about the difficulty of such a strike and American officials have expressed concern about the destabilizing effect such military action could have in the region, even if carried out successfully.

Iran says it is not interested in nuclear weapons and its nuclear program is for peaceful, civilian purposes. The Israelis say they are considering a strike because they fear Iran could be moving its nuclear enrichment sites further underground, out of reach of the weapons Israel has available.

Romney's embrace of Israel was on display Sunday as he met with leaders and visited the Western Wall, one of the holiest sites in Judaism.

Wearing a yarmulke, the candidate was mobbed by worshippers as he walked down to pray and place a note into one of the wall's crevices.

Earlier, Netanyahu welcomed Romney as "a representative of the United States" and told the Republican that he agrees with his approach to the Iranian nuclear threat.

"Mitt, I couldn't agree with you more," Netanyahu said.

"We have to be honest and say that all the sanctions and diplomacy so far have not set back the Iranian program by one iota. And that's why I believe that we need a strong and credible military threat coupled with the sanctions to have a chance to change that situation," Netanyahu said.

Romney also met with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad.

Iran's nuclear program has become the most pressing problem for the U.S. and Israel. Republicans have criticized the Democratic president for putting too much pressure on Israel in the peace process and being weak on Iran.

Obama rejects the criticism, and his aides point to what they call unprecedented U.S.-Israeli security cooperation.

Just on Friday, Obama said he was releasing plans to send $70 million in military aid for Israel. The new money is aimed at helping Israel expand production of a short-range rocket defense system, called Iron Dome, that can block fire from nearby Gaza and other places.

Romney arrived in Jerusalem on Saturday night after a difficult few days in Britain, where he made the mistake of questioning the host country's preparation for the Olympic Games. The gaffe undermined the goal of his weeklong journey through Britain, Israel and Poland ? to show he can operate effectively on the world stage.

Facebook?s stock is tanking ? did investors get played by big banks?

Although Facebook (FB)?met expectations in its first-ever earnings report on Thursday, the reaction from investors has been decidedly ugly so far. By the end of trading on Friday, the company?s stock price had dropped by 117% to close at $23.70, or about half the value of its 52-week peak of $45. Making things worse, Facebook?s big slide came on a day when the NASDAQ closed up 2.24%, meaning Facebook can?t plausibly blame its slide on weak U.S. GDP numbers or other external factors.

As Forbes?s?Nathan Vardi notes, Facebook was never really in an ideal situation to go public this year and investment banks used the company?s brand-name status to hype it to unreasonable expectations, especially given that no one knew whether the social networking giant had really figured out how to create a sustainable business model at the time.

And when investors learned yesterday that Facebook wouldn?t be providing any third-quarter guidance despite the fact that its capital expenditures had ballooned by 213% year-over-year, well, that just had ?sell off? written all over it.

The bottom line, then, is that investors aren?t yet convinced that Facebook knows how to make sure its large investments will pay off in terms of revenue growth. And until that happens, early Facebook shareholders will likely continue to take a bath on their investments.

(AP) ? The Olympics opening ceremony was seen in the U.S. by 40.7 million people, making it the most-watched opening ceremony for a summer or winter Olympics.

The Nielsen company said Saturday that the average viewership topped the previous record of 39.8 million people who watched the opening of the 1996 summer Olympics in Atlanta. The London festivities bucked a tradition that American viewers are generally more interested in these ceremonies when they are on U.S. soil.

The 2008 ceremony in Beijing reached slightly fewer than 36 million people.

The strong ratings came despite ? or perhaps because of ? complaints about NBC not streaming the ceremony live online.

The World, and Everything in it: More Companies ... - Debt Relief Mag

The Middle Class Beatdown: Decline of the American Dream by Cory M. GrenierDebt negotiation is a result of debt settlement companies. It has become a significant strategy that has impressed consumers when it comes to relief over massive liabilities. This is turning out to be tighter when it comes to the present day economic downgrade. Credit cards are very popular among consumers today. This means that there may be unsettled credit card balances that can be drastic at times. When consumers are unable to pay back their unsecured bills mainly in terms of credit cards, they are more likely to collapse before bankruptcy. It is because creditors will hunt them own through courts forcing them to take on options like bankruptcy which can certainly be devastating when it comes to their future economic stability. Debt settlement has become the method which holds the potential of eliminating most of consumer debts in a significant manner. Through its strategy of negotiation, a legitimate debt relief service will intervene between the consumer and creditor in order to eliminate their debts in a great deal. This elimination of debt can account to more than half of the total that consumers owe. But, you need to have a total debt that exceeds $ 10k before you think of contacting a legitimate relief service. Though this requirement might be a bit too much for consumers when they think of the benefits which are due, it becomes a fair policy. Furthermore, debt settlement can be stated as a superior relief method because consumers will be able to reduce not only their debts but also the rest of them in completely payable installments. This is a fascinating fact when it comes to this method and also makes it one of a kind! Getting out of debt is not impossible but it will not happen over night. Consumers who are serious about debt relief need to be determined. If you have over $ 10 k in unsecured debt you should really consider debt settlement. Consumers can expect to realistically eliminate 60% of their unsecured debt with a settlement. US pledge to rebuild Haiti not being met

Port-au-Prince ? The deadly earthquake that leveled Haiti?s capital more than two years ago brought a thread of hope: a promise of renewal. With the United States taking the lead, international donors pledged billions of dollars to help the country ?build back better,? breaking its cycle of dependency. But after the rubble was cleared and the dead buried, what the quake laid bare was the depth of Haiti?s dysfunction. Today, the fruits of an ambitious, $1.8 billion U.S. reconstruction promise are hard to find. Immediate, basic needs for bottled water, temporary shelter and medicine were the obvious priorities. But projects fundamental to Haiti?s transformation out of poverty, such as permanent housing and electric plants in the heavily hit capital of Port-au-Prince have not taken off. Critics say the U.S. effort to reconstruct Haiti was flawed from the start. While ?build back better? was a comforting notion, there wasn?t much of a foundation to build upon. Haiti?s chronic political instability and lack of coordinated leadership between Haiti and the U.S. meant crucial decisions about construction projects were slow to be approved. Red tape stalled those that were. The international community?s $10 billion effort was also hindered by its pledge to get approval for projects from the Haitian government. For more than a year then-President Rene Preval was, as he later described it, ?paralyzed,? while his government was mostly obliterated, with 16,000 civil servants killed and most ministries in ruins. It wasn?t until earlier this year that a fully operational government was in place to sign paperwork, adopt codes and write regulations. Other delays included challenges to contracts, underestimates of what needed to be done, and land disputes. Until now, comprehensive details about who is receiving U.S. funds and how they are spending them have not been released. Contracts, budgets and a 300-item spreadsheet obtained by The Associated Press under a Freedom of Information Act request show: _ Of the $988 million spent so far, a quarter went toward debt relief to unburden the hemisphere?s poorest nation of repayments. But after Haiti?s loans were paid off, the government began borrowing again: $657 million so far, largely for oil imports rather than development projects. _ Less than 12 percent of the reconstruction money sent to Haiti after the earthquake has gone toward energy, shelter, ports or other infrastructure. At least a third, $329 million, went to projects that were awarded before the 2010 catastrophe and had little to do with the recovery ? such as HIV/AIDS programs. _ Half of the $1.8 billion the U.S. promised for rebuilding is still in the Treasury, its disbursement stymied by an understaffed U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince in the months after the quake and by a Haitian government that was barely functional for more than a year. _ Despite State Department promises to keep spending public, some members of Congress and watchdogs say they aren?t getting detailed information about how the millions are being spent, as dozens of contractors working for the U.S. government in Haiti leave a complex money trail. ?The challenges were absolutely huge and although there was a huge amount of money pledged, the structures were not there for this to be done quickly,? said former U.S. Ambassador Brian Curran. ?The concept of build back better is a good one, but we were way over-optimistic about the pace we could do it.? The U.S. Special Coordinator for Haiti Thomas C. Adams, who oversees USAID spending here, says the first priority in the critical days after the quake that killed more than 300,000 was crisis management, and the U.S. government spent $1.3 billion on critical rescue operations, saving untold lives. Three months later, the goals shifted from rescue to what would become a $1.8 billion reconstruction package aimed at building new foundations. ?U.S. taxpayers, in the past, have spent billions of dollars in Haiti that haven?t resulted in sustainable improvement in the lives of Haitians,? said Adams. ?The emphasis was never on ?spend the money quickly.? The emphasis was on spending the money so that in a year or two, we could look at these projects and see that we?ve helped create a real base to jump-start economic development and give Haitian families and businesses the kind of opportunities they deserve.? Haitian government officials are appreciative, and said the U.S. provides generous support for projects that impact long-term development. As for going back into debt, ?Haiti needs all the assistance it can possibly get at this point,? said Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe?s deputy chief of staff Dimitri Nau.

South Florida Ranks High for Loan Modifications

Recent research indicates that South Florida ranks in the top three metro areas for permanent and trial loan modification approvals. ?Third only to the Los Angeles and New York metro areas, South Florida remains an area where mortgage help is plentiful for distressed homeowners. ?The government funded HAMP program continues to grant homeowners relief on mortgage expenses via loan modification, and to date over 40,000 homeowners have received either trial or permanent loan modifications in the South Florida area. ?Coupled with the stabilization of the housing market and some promising housing inventory and pricing trends, South Floridians may begin to see a true improvement in the housing market in South Florida. ?There is no doubt that loan modifications will continue; in fact, the South Florida area has seen a recent influx of loan modification approvals. ?According to Paul Baltrun, director of the Homeowner Assistance Division (HAD) of ?The Law Office of Paul A. Krasker, P.A., the firm has seen a recent significant increase in the number of modification approvals. ?Baltrun believes that circumstances are highly favorable for distressed homeowners to receive a loan modification and he encourages his clients to seek a modification sooner rather than later. ?It seems some promising housing market trends are on the horizon for the South Florida area.

Free Government Grant Money

Another type of government grant is the small business grant. People who may want to start a small business but do not have the capital may submit an application to get free grant money for small business purposes. If you already have a business, but are having a difficult time keeping it afloat, you may also try asking for a grant that you may use for maintaining your business. Government financial assistance grants have been made to serve as helping hands to US citizens who have a hard time living quality lives due to lack of money or due to very poor finances. If you are eighteen years old, an American citizen, and you meet the requirements for certain government grants, you can definitely apply to get free grant money and realize that there is hope ? thanks to the grant programs of the federal government of the United States. The Supreme Guide To Free Grants is a must read e-book for people who want to know more about the many kinds of federal grant programs available in the U.S. The said e-book will not only discuss in detail about the many programs available, it will also teach you the actions you need to perform in order to get the grant you are interested in. LDK Solar Debt Repayment a Troubling Escalation of Green Mercantilism

Xinyu?s debt relief move, however, represents an altogether new mercantilist approach. LDK is undoubtedly in poor shape and needs an infusion of funds to survive. The company has reported losses in four straight quarters and its stock has lost close to 72 percent of its value over the previous 52 weeks. Nevertheless, the Xinyu bailout marks a ?more troubling phase? for ?the Chinese model of solar capitalism,? as Greentech Solar put it: ?It?s the first time a Chinese local government has actively paid off debt for a non-state solar company, according to reports. For the rest of the industry, it?s a grim indication that China?s solar industry may start tapping another source of government support to keep its market-flooding strategy going.? Skeptics might contend that government actions like the U.S. auto industry bailout are little different from LDK Solar?s situation, but 1) government loans in that case were tied to operational and structural reforms, and 2) the companies in question are paying the loans back. While there has been mention of LDK Solar putting up assets as collateral, the repayment of their debt is otherwise essentially free money.

Razer unveils BlackWidow Ultimate keyboard and Ouroboros ...

Razer has today launched a brand new keyboard and mouse that are sure to get a few gamers excited.

First up we have the 2013 edition of the BlackWidow Ultimate keyboard, which offers up full mechanical keys using blue switches and 10-key roll-over (copes with up to 10 key presses simultaneously). Razer promises key motion faster than any standard keyboard, and detection of every key press regardless of how fast you can repeatedly tap them.

The BlackWidow Ultimate also offers up improved green key backlighting and a matte black finish that is ?anti-fingerprint.? Those of you with additional peripherals will be glad to hear Razer has included both audio and USB passthroughs.

The BlackWidow Ultimate may be perfect for your desk at home, but Razer also wants to cater to those attending LAN parties and tournaments. So they?ve also launched the BlackWidow Tournament Edition, which offers up the same feature set, but removes the numpad for a smaller, lighter keyboard.

Complimenting the BlackWidow is one of the most customizable rodents I have ever seen. It?s called the Razer Ouroboros, and is referred to as an ?elite ambidextrous gaming mouse? with good reason.

The Ouroboros has been designed for any size of hand by letting you adjust its ergonomics. This is done by allowing the length of the mouse to be adjusted, the angle of the arch where you palm rests to be tweaked, and the side panels to be interchanged allowing for three different grip types (claw, palm, or hybrid). And being ambidextrous, it works for both left or right-handed gamers.

The wireless mouse can perform for up to 12 hours using a single rechargeable AA battery, but you will probably never run out of juice if the recharge stand is used between gaming sessions.

Accuracy is assured as the Ouroboros achieves 8200dpi using a dual sensor that consists of both a laser and optical sensor fitted to the base of the unit. There?s also a ?clutch trigger? that allows the DPI to be cut instantly when you need it, and if you prefer to use your mouse wired, Razer promise the same level of accuracy regardless.

Both the new keyboards and mouse take advantage of Razer Synapse 2.0, which allows your game preferences to be stored in the cloud. That means wherever you take your peripherals, as soon as you are hooked up to the web your settings will be available.

The BlackWidow Ultimate 2013 and Ouroboros don?t come cheap. You?ll be expected to pay around $139.99 for the keyboard and $129.99 for the mouse. That?s sure to come down a bit when online retailers get stock, though.

If the price hasn?t put you off then the BlackWidow will be available from August, but you?ll be waiting until the fourth quarter for the Ouroboros to appear.

A Guide To Squamous Cell Carcinoma Skin Cancer | Penis ...

You never noticed it before, but now you have a mole on your arm that seems to be changing color. When you touch it, it has a scaly surface and it?s unlike any other moles on your body. This could be squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer. How will this kind of cancer appear? Squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer generally appears on the visible skin of people over fifty years of age, those who have had many x-rays, those who have been exposed to chemicals and it also occurs in people with light colored skin, eyes and hair. If left alone, squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer can spread to other body areas, including the vital organs. When that occurs, it can be deadly. However, if caught early enough you should be fine. In fact, there is a 95% cure rate if it is caught in time. If you believe that you have it, though , you must arrange an appointment with a professional doctor instantly.

Dermatologists

If you believe you could have squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer, you need to actually consider making a meeting with a dermatological doctor. A dermatologist specializes in treatment of the skin. Therefore, a dermatologist will know the best squamous cell skin cancer treatments. She will inspect your sores, moles or red bumps and will decide if you do in reality have squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer. If your skin specialist isn?t sure, a biopsy may want to be done. A biopsy is when your doctor takes a sample of the skin lesion and sends it to a lab for testing. The test will then come back positive or negative for squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer. If you do turn out to have cancer, correct treatment must be started.

Treatment

You will need to begin treatment immediately before the squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer metastasizes, or spreads, to other areas of your body. The good news is that squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer is completely curable if caught early enough. Treatment usually consists of shaving the lesion, or cutting it out completely. Often a skin graft must be done if the sore is sizeable enough. If these do not work, and the cancer has spread, radiation could be used. Chemotherapy is a last resort, but it usually doesn?t prove very effective with squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer.

The best thing to do is to protect yourself before you get squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer in the first place. Wear sun screen when outside, watch out for too many x-rays or chemical exposures and get your moles and skin checked for cancer constantly. Especially if you?re over fifty, squamous cell carcinoma skin cancer is common. So long as you catch it early, it can be handled. That is the reason why you and your dermatological doctor should be well familiarised so that you are never stunned by sores you suspect might be cancer.

Retro Olympics becomes Retro Athletics, still don't mention the Olympics

Android Central

What we see here is a perfectly innocent Android game known as Retro Athletics. But, it didn't always go by that moniker. No, sadly it seems the world has officially gone mad, as the title had to be renamed for using the 'brand' of the Olympics summer sporting occasion taking place in the UK this year.

We're not going into politics, that's not why we're here. But, it's a pretty sad day when the Olympics summer sporting occasion taking place in the UK this year is deemed more as a brand to be infringed upon, than the global event it's meant to be. The point to note here is that should you have previously downloaded the title under its old name, it's probably a good idea to uninstall and download again from the Play Store. Seems that Google pulled the title completely, so should you want to benefit from any future updates you'll need to have this variant.

Wells Fargo's customer service angers bank analyst

By Rick Rothacker, Reuters

?Wells Fargo & Co ticked off the wrong customer.

Veteran bank analyst Dick Bove, normally a strong defender of big banks, lashed out on Tuesday against the No. 4 U.S. bank for the poor service it provided one of its customers: Him.

In an unusual research note, Bove, of Rochdale Research, listed a series of grievances at his branch in Tampa, Florida, where he said he enjoyed strong service before Wells bought Wachovia in 2008.

He still views Wells Fargo as one of the best managed banks in the United States, but concludes that serving customers well is much less important than selling them products. Effective financial management is also more important than customer service, he added.

But Bove does care about customer service. He has been moving his accounts to JPMorgan Chase & Co , which is expanding in the Tampa market.

Wells Fargo spokeswoman Mary Eshet said the bank does not comment on analyst reports, but noted the bank conducts more than 60,000 surveys of retail banking customers each month. During the Wachovia merger, nearly eight out of 10 customers indicated they were "extremely satisfied," the highest rating, she said.

"Customer service is incredibly important and central to our vision and values at Wells Fargo," Eshet said. "We also recognize that we're only as good as our last interaction and we remain committed to putting our customers at the center of everything we do."

Bove does not feel the bank was putting him first. In his report, he describes when a banker asked him to wait to talk with him, but instead went to the bathroom and then left the branch. In another example, the branch referred Bove to a call center for a question about a check, only to have the call center refer him back to the branch.

In an interview, Bove said the last straw came about 10 days ago when he withdrew an application to refinance his mortgage that had dragged on for about four months. Wells later sent him a note saying his application had been denied, which could hurt his credit rating.

Bove said he has been talking with the bank about his grievances for months, telling them his experience made him question the its statements about commitment to customer service.

"What my Wells Fargo experience suggests is that a successful bank is one that keeps seeking new customers and selling them more products and not getting bogged down by offering service," Bove wrote in his note.?

LG has unveiled the V720, a new series of all-in-one PCs, featuring 27-inch IPS HD panels and an Intel Ivy Bridge processor option. The line consists of a high-end model with Intel's 3rd generation Core i5 and an IPS 1,920 x 1,080 3D panel, and a lesser model with a 2nd generation Core i3 and the same display sans 3D. Other specs include 750GB SATA3 hybrid or standard drives, up to 8GB DDR3 RAM, USB 3.0 and NVIDA's GT640M 1GB graphics. Photos show a white and silver looker with well concealed computer guts, but don't count on being able to pick up one of the minimalist units in the US -- LG normally keeps its PC offerings exclusively in Asia.
