This Crazy Cass Life: Baby Shower

Saturday was an incredibly special day. My first baby shower was in my hometown of McKinney and felt like my bridal shower all over again...only 6.5 years later and celebrating a whole new chapter in my life! The food, the blue and green dinosaur decorations, the details, and most importantly all of the people who filled the room combined to create perfection. There was so much love and support in that room and so many people who were surrounding me, encouraging me, and raising me up in this journey. I was just overwhelmed by it all. Pip and Pop are going to be two very loved little boys!

Having a shower really brought home to me that Pip and Pop are coming. They are going to live in my house and need all of these little bitty things! Mind boggling! We are busy getting ready for them, and thanks to the generosity of the amazing people in our life they are going to have adorable clothes, lots of fun toys, a great nursery, the list could go on. The love I felt at the shower was so amazing- I truly feel so lucky to have such great people in our life who are not only there for us, but who will be there for our boys.

I was a little nervous going into the shower because I hate being the center of attention, but luckily I didn't have to sit and open gifts in front of everyone. It was a "display shower" or "naked shower" which means all of the gifts were brought unwrapped and displayed for everyone to see. It was the perfect format! I was able to mingle and talk to all of the guests! With so many guests in attendance (over 50) if I had been opening gifts I wouldn't have had time to speak to a single person, so I really appreciated the naked style.

While I can't say thank you enough to everyone who was there, a very special thank you goes out to the ten hostesses. Their time and energy and creativity made it a perfect (could I use that word more?) day.

All our stuff all laid out at our house -- ready to go into the nursery after we get it painted and the carpet replaced!
