The universal appeal of a ganesha tattoo

Iconic religious images have always been popular for use in body art designs and in our troubled modern world, more and more of us feel inclined to reach out to our faith, to give us something to believe in and hold on to during these turbulent and uncertain times. As well as theological imagery, the symbols and deities revered by philosophical and spiritual practices like Buddhism and Hinduism are also much favored and these include the very popular ganesha tattoo. With the head of an elephant and the body of a man, this much-loved God is as popular around the world as he is in his native India and this is not surprising considering that these designs offer profound symbolic value as well as making a significant visual impact too.
